Wander. Create. Grow.
A Wonder Walk is a small-group outdoor adventure built around one very simple idea: children notice things adults walk right past.
There’s no scavenger hunt to finish, no worksheet to complete, and no finish line we’re trying to reach. Instead, we slow down and let the children’s curiosity help lead the way.
We might follow a creek to see where it goes, turn over a leaf to investigate what’s underneath, stop for ten minutes because someone spotted the world’s tiniest mushroom, listen for frogs, collect an extremely important stick, or spend half the morning wondering who might live inside a hollow tree.
The destination isn’t really the point. The noticing is.
Each Wonder Walk takes place at a local, family-friendly outdoor location that I explore ahead of time. I choose locations with the children attending in mind, including any physical limitations or individual needs families share with me. Sunday Wonder Walks ALWAYS take place on accessible paths and trails, so children and grown-ups with mobility needs can explore safely.
Every child receives their own Wonder Walk Discovery Bag filled with kid-friendly tools for observing, collecting, investigating, and wondering about what we discover along the way.
Wonder Walks are designed for children of all ages and abilities and their grown-ups. Grown-ups stay and adventure with us—because curiosity is considerably more fun when somebody else is willing to crouch down and look at the weird bug, too.
No two Wonder Walks will ever look quite the same—because no two groups of children will wonder about exactly the same things.
